SHEENA GETS A MICROWAVE!

Well, actually, that's not what this story is about, but it got your attention, didn't it?

On November 14th, 1998 I went to La Crosse, Wisconsin to see Boris The Sprinkler at the Warehouse. For those of you who are not familiar with this band, let me describe them in one word: GEEK. Anyway, it was very cool. I went with my brother Frankie (also known as Spike), who is not really a punk rocker, but what the heck, he went anyway. We got there early and Rev. Nørb was selling t-shirts, records, and CD's. I bought some stuff and got autographs and pictures. It was especially cool because Nørb and Paul #1 remembered me from my e-mails! (By the way, Paul #1 and Nørb are the geeks with me in the picture above.) The opening bands weren't especially good, and the whole time they were playing, Nørb read comic books.

When it was time for Boris The Sprinkler to play, Nørb left and came back dressed up as a green M&M!!! The concert was great, and Nørb dedicated all the songs to Frankie. He was actually supposed to dedicate one to me (at Frankie's request), but dedicated them all to Frankie so that we would fight on the way home. I was in the front row center, so I had the best view of everything! Nørb was really weird and funny the entire time. The highlight of the show came when he sang especially to me ("S-H-DOUBLE-E-N-A . . . .")!!! I felt like Riff Randall (for those of you have haven't seen the movie Rock 'N' Roll High School, do it now!!).

After the show, I got some more pictures and harassed the band a little more. It was a great time for everyone, but especially for me! (I'm sure my mom, who was kind enough to drive us there, didn't have half the amount of fun hanging out at the hotel.) Anyway, for those of you who haven't seen Boris The Sprinkler in concert yet, I highly recommend it!
